2026 HILLDROP TRAINING Applications now closed

Hilldrop Training equips the modern gardener with the skills to design sustainable green spaces for a changing world. Training you in everything but horticulture, you will learn from the best, from building cob structures as habitat and the importance of dead wood to ecology and creative maintenance.
We are looking for people with, ideally, at least two years professional experience, though this can be negotiable. We particularly welcome applications from minoritised groups as well as those who are economically disadvantaged to try and ensure our trainees are representative of a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
To guarantee the ongoing exchange of knowledge, we hope to build a community of gardeners who have been through the Hilldrop Training and would afterwards be able to go into a community garden and share their new-found knowledge. This would be a one-off paid day and we will be asking community spaces to apply to us for a gardener in our next phase.
All our training is free and will take place at Hilldrop in Essex.
Applications are now closed.
